معرفی
Scott Black is a Researcher at the University of Strathclyde, affiliated with the College of Engineering and the Department of Biomedical Engineering. His work focuses on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations for hemodynamic assessment in cardiovascular conditions.
Research Interests
Black's research applies CFD and 4D Flow-MRI to analyze blood flow in aortic dissections, vascular grafts, and repaired congenital heart defects like Tetralogy of Fallot. His interests include perfusion optimization, arterial geometry reconstruction, and patient-specific modeling.
Scientific Awards
- The Scottish Cardiovascular Forum (SCF) poster prize for PhD/early career post-doctoral researchers (£75) (2020)
Projects and Collaborations
Black is involved in the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Power Networks and Smart Grids, collaborating with Principal Investigator Asimina Kazakidi and Co-investigator Konstantinos Ritos. His work includes developing source code for CFD-ready arterial geometries using 4D Flow-MRI datasets.
