Scott B. Rae serves as Dean of Faculty and Professor of Christian Ethics at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, where he also chairs the Department of Philosophy. His academic leadership and scholarship focus on applying Christian ethics to contemporary issues in medicine and business.
His educational background includes a BS in Economics from Southern Methodist University, a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a PhD in social ethics from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Rae's research centers on bioethics and business ethics, with particular expertise in reproductive technologies, end-of-life care, and marketplace ethics. He has authored influential books such as Moral Choices and Business for the Common Good, shaping Christian ethical discourse through rigorous analysis of assisted reproduction, genetic testing, and commercial surrogacy.
His 2025 publications reveal a sustained engagement with cutting-edge bioethical challenges, including artificial wombs, parental rights in reproduction, and the metaphysical foundations of human dignity.
