Scott AnderBois

Scott AnderBois is Associate Professor and Director of Linguistics at Brown University. His community-engaged research documents endangered languages like A'ingae (Ecuador) and Yucatec Maya, combining fieldwork with formal semantic analysis.

Recent work examines apprehensional modality, switch-reference systems, and definiteness marking. AnderBois develops digital corpora including the A'ingae Language Documentation Project and U koorpusil maaya t'aan (Yucatec Maya corpus). His teaching spans semantics, pragmatics, typology, and linguistic field methods.
