Scott A. Finlayson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences at Texas A&M University, within the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Calgary (1994). His research focuses on environmental signals' roles in plant growth and development, particularly light-mediated branch regulation and phytohormone involvement in stress responses. He teaches courses such as SCSC 307 (Crop Biology and Physiology) and SCSC 689 (Special Topics: The Physiological Basis of Crop Improvement).
Dr. Finlayson collaborates with support staff and students like Qing Li and Sungkyn Park. He is affiliated with Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Service, contributing to agricultural science advancements. His work bridges fundamental plant biology with applied crop improvement strategies.
