Scott A Soleimanpour

Scott A Soleimanpour, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and Molecular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Michigan Medical School. He serves as Director of the Michigan Diabetes Research Center and T1D Basic Research and Islet Biology Programs at the Caswell Diabetes Institute. His work bridges basic and clinical research in type 1 diabetes (T1D) and mitochondrial biology.

Recent publications emphasize mitochondrial dysfunction in diabetes (LONP1 regulation in T2D), islet cell transplantation therapies, and mitophagy's role in metabolic tissue maturation. His work spans immunology, endocrinology, and neuroscience.
