Dr. Schmuck Roland serves as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Management and Organizational Sciences, Faculty of Economics, University of Pécs. He concurrently holds key administrative positions as Head of Quality Management for the Faculty of Economics (KTK), Head of Quality Development for the University of Pécs (PTE), and Chairman of the PTE's Quality Development Committee, while also participating as a permanent guest in University Senate proceedings.
His academic foundation includes a 2004 economics degree with excellence in management and consulting from the University of Pécs, complemented by an Erasmus semester in Italy. He completed doctoral research on online business models followed by habilitation work focused on quality management.
Research centers on Quality Management systems (particularly ISO 9001 implementation in Hungarian SMEs), Strategic Management pedagogy using business simulations, and Innovation Strategies in global enterprises. His methodology emphasizes experiential learning through business simulations, bridging theoretical frameworks with practical applications across 100+ publications exceeding 300 citations.
Recent publications reveal three convergent research trajectories: empirical analysis of ICT adoption in certified versus non-certified Hungarian SMEs, longitudinal assessment of business simulation efficacy in skill development, and case-based innovation studies of multinational corporations like Alibaba. These works collectively demonstrate his commitment to translating academic research into tangible business solutions.
