Saša Missoni

Prof. Saša Missoni, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Biomedicine and Health Sciences at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Healthcare, University of Osijek. He serves as Senior Scientific Associate at the Institute for Anthropological Research in Zagreb, where he has held leadership roles including Director (2011-2023) and Assistant Director (2010-2011). His career spans international collaborations in genetic epidemiology, metabolic disorders, and public health initiatives.

His research focuses on genetic and environmental factors influencing metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes, particularly in Adriatic island populations. Prof. Missoni has served on prestigious committees including the European Commission's Working Group 1+MG WG12 'The Genom of Europe' and as President of the International Society for the Study of Human Growth and Clinical Auxology (ISGA). He contributes to policy through roles in the Croatian Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science.
