Saša Gerželj

Saša Gerželj is a Lecturer in Keyboard & Collaborative Piano at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), where she has been since 2014. She is recognized for her dedication to teaching inspired by Richard P. Feynman’s methods. Her career combines performance, pedagogy, and artistic leadership, including roles as Artistic Director of the Carinthian International Piano Competition and the PAMT Summer Academy.

• Education: BMus and MMus from the University for Music and Performing Arts Graz (Austria), Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School (Canada).

Her research interests focus on piano performance, contemporary music interpretation, and collaborative pedagogy. She has performed extensively with orchestras and ensembles globally, including the Rotterdam Chamber Orchestra and SNG Maribor Orchestra, and has recordings with Radiotelevizija Slovenija, Österreichischer Rundfunk, and CBC Canada.

• Awards: Multiple scholarships and prizes for artistic excellence, including the Zois Scholarship and Jun Fujimoto Scholarship.

Gerželj’s teaching spans institutions in Slovenia and Austria, and she mentors students in international competitions. She has judged events like the BBC Young Musician competition and leads masterclasses across Europe.
