Saša Bajt

Saša Bajt is a Leading Scientist at DESY, heading the Advanced Multilayer X-ray Optics Group at the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science (CFEL). Her research focuses on developing high-precision X-ray optics, particularly thick multilayer Laue lenses, enabling nanoscale imaging comparable to single protein molecules.

Education:

• PhD, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität, Heidelberg (1990)

Research Interests:
X-ray optics, nanoscale imaging, and wavefront characterization. Her work advances X-ray microscopy and holography by creating novel multilayer lenses capable of focusing intense X-ray beams to near-atomic resolution. She also investigates deposition processes for high-precision X-ray lenses.
