Saugata Bhaduri is a Professor at the Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He holds visiting professorships at institutions globally, including Université Grenoble Alpes and Julius Maximillians Universität Würzburg. His research focuses on colonial Bengal's cultural history, literary theory, and comparative literature. Key works include Polycoloniality (2020) and A Critical History of Bengali Literature (forthcoming).
He has received prestigious awards like the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Award (1995) and the H.C. Sarkar Memorial Award (1993). His collaborations span multidisciplinary projects on global literature, digital narratives, and colonial transactions. Bhaduri actively participates in international academic networks, including the UGC-DAAD Indo-German partnerships and EU-funded initiatives.
Recent lectures include talks on postcolonialism, world literature, and literary theory at IHRIM (France). His academic engagements emphasize challenging traditional canons and exploring transcultural dynamics.
