Satish Narayanasamy is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on the intersection of computer architecture, trusted hardware, and program analysis, with particular emphasis on genome sequencing and health analytics. He holds the Morris Wellman Faculty Development Professorship and has received NSF CAREER, ASPLOS, and ISPASS best paper awards, among others.
Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego, advised by Brad Calder. Prior industry experience includes roles at Intel and Microsoft Research, and co-founding the precision health startup Sequal Inc.
Research Interests: Accelerated genomics systems, confidential computing using trusted hardware (e.g., SGX), optimistic hybrid analysis for software monitors, and scalable secure hardware design. Projects include GenDP for genome sequencing acceleration, InvisiPage for secure enclaves, and Iodine for dynamic taint tracking.
