Dr. Saskia Abrahms-Kavunenko is an Associate Professor at the Hakubi Center for Advanced Research at Kyoto University and held an External Senior Fellow position at the University of Copenhagen (2024). Her research focuses on the intersections of environmental changes, cultural practices, and religious traditions in Mongolia, Australia, India, and beyond. She explores topics such as plastics, global warming, pollution, Buddhism, shamanism, and postsocialism, emphasizing the materiality of these phenomena and their societal impacts.
