Sasha Turner is Associate Professor of History at Johns Hopkins University's Krieger School of Arts & Sciences. She specializes in Caribbean and African diaspora social and cultural histories during the period of colonialism and enslavement.
Her research focuses on the experiences of women and children, examining how they navigated racial and gendered identities. She investigates historical perspectives on the body, emotions, reproduction practices, nursing, midwifery, and community healthcare in slave societies.
