Sasha S. Nikolic is a Full Professor at the Department of Automation, Faculty of Electronics, University of Nis. He holds a PhD (2014) and Master's degree (2006) from the same institution. His research focuses on control systems, neural networks, and dynamical systems modeling with applications in automation and signal processing. He leads the Laboratory for Digital Systems and Process Management.
- Education: PhD in Systems Management (2014), Master's in Automation (2006)
Research interests include orthogonal function-based control, adaptive neuro-fuzzy systems, and real-time control applications. His work spans automotive systems (anti-lock braking), dynamic modeling, and nonlinear system identification. He has published 30+ journal articles in high-impact venues like IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics and the Journal of the Franklin Institute. Current projects include 2 national and 3 international collaborations.
As head of the Laboratory for Digital Systems, he oversees research in process management and automation technologies. His recent advancements include optimal MIMO system modeling using orthogonal polynomial neural networks and adaptive PID control strategies.
