Sarwat Khalil, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, where she serves as Associate Program Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship program. She also holds clinical leadership roles as Co-Director of Transplant Infectious Diseases at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and American Board of Internal Medicine-certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
- Education: MD from The Aga Khan University (Pakistan); Residency at Indiana University School of Medicine; Fellowships at University of Michigan and Mayo Clinic College of Medicine
Her research focuses on cardiovascular infections and molecular diagnostics for immunocompromised patients, particularly solid organ transplant recipients. Current work explores novel metagenomic techniques to improve early detection of severe infections.
