Dr. Sarosh Khalid-Khan is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University, affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences. She holds cross-appointments in the Centre for Neuroscience Studies and the Department of Psychology (Faculty of Arts and Science). Her roles include Deputy Head Academic, Program Director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and CBME Lead for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Subspecialty Program.
Education: MBBS from Dow University of Health Sciences (1989), Adult Psychiatry residency at Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital (1997), Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (1999), and a postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychopharmacology at University of Pennsylvania (2003). Joined Queen’s University faculty in 2008.
Research focuses on prevention of childhood anxiety disorders, psychotherapeutic interventions for adolescent mood/anxiety disorders, enhancing primary care capacity for pediatric mental health, and transcultural psychiatry. Key methodologies include eye-tracking studies, biomarker research, and psychoeducational interventions. Active in clinical trials involving digital therapeutics like MindLight and online cognitive behavioral therapy.
Grants and collaborations include military family mental health studies, rural/remote pediatric psychiatry service delivery research, and cross-cultural psychiatry initiatives. Leads multidisciplinary teams in eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, and ADHD comorbidity research.
Labs/Teams: Core investigator in Queen’s University’s Child and Youth Psychiatry/Mental Health Division. Collaborates with PREVNet (Promoting Relationships and Ending Violence Network), International Society for Bipolar Disorders, and WHO initiatives on mental health guidelines.
