Sarang Kim

Sarang Kim, Ph.D., is a Higher Education and Student Affairs Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Oklahoma's Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education. She earned her Ph.D. in Education Studies with a Higher Education Concentration from the University of California, San Diego.

Her research focuses on using qualitative methods grounded in critical theories and anti-racist frameworks to dismantle structural barriers contributing to racial and intersectional inequity in higher education. Key areas include fostering civic engagement and social justice leadership through student development theory and analyzing transnational dimensions of race and racism in globalized higher education contexts. She examines how international students of color develop critical agency for racial justice advocacy across borders.

As a transnational scholar, her interdisciplinary work integrates historical and cultural studies, critical globalization studies, and cross-national applications of Critical Race Theory to address systemic oppression in educational systems.
