Sarah Wheeler

Sarah Wheeler is an Associate Professor, Internship Director, and Director of Graduate Studies at the Department of History, Political Science, Philosophy, and Religious Studies, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). She is affiliated with the College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs. Her research focuses on Latin American politics, family planning policies in developing countries, and economic development strategies. She has collaborated with the Indiana/Armstrong County ARC to evaluate programs and presented work on family planning policies in Latin America at the Northeast Political Science Association. Recently, she attended a State System-sponsored conference on Student-Centered Learning at Millersville University.

Her teaching includes courses such as World Politics (PLSC 101), International Relations (PLSC 282), Political Systems of Latin America (PLSC 387/587), and Developing Nations (PLSC 389/589). She aims to explore students' attitudes toward communitarianism and individualism through future research on study abroad programs.

Dr. Wheeler’s office is located in 405B Humanities and Social Science Building, with face-to-face office hours Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and remote hours Monday-Thursday 2:00–4:30 p.m., plus Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
