Sarah Westh is a Teaching Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Aalborg University, within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She holds a Master's degree in Social Work and brings practical experience from the social sector into her teaching. Her work focuses on integrating theory with practice to equip students with critical thinking, ethical awareness, and tools to address complex social issues.
Research interests include service user perspectives, citizen voice in social services, and marginalized youth participation. She is a project participant in the EU-funded RESPONSIVE project (2023–2026), aimed at enhancing responsiveness to citizen voice in social services across Europe. Her recent publication explores democracy and relationships in the context of institutional settings.
Westh actively engages in academic activities, organizing seminars and workshops on topics like 'Listening in Social Work' and presenting on service user perspectives. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to social conditions and equity.
