Dr Sarah Watzdorf is a Grant-funded Researcher at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences under the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. Her work focuses on developing robust portable optical atomic clocks for precision timekeeping at sea, utilizing frequency combs and next-generation spectroscopy systems.

She earned her PhD in solid-state lasers, contributing to lidar applications for methane leak detection and wind speed measurement. Active in outreach, she chaired the 2022 KOALA conference and engaged with high school students through the Australian Institute of Physics.
