Sarah Watkins is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Clemson University, part of the College of Arts and Humanities. She holds an M.A. (2020) and B.A. (2017) in English Language and Literature and Creative Writing from Clemson University, graduating with distinction (Magna cum Laude) and a 3.93 GPA. Her research interests focus on Creative Writing, Fantasy Literature, and Children's Literature. She emphasizes innovative, student-centered teaching methods to inspire enthusiasm for writing and rhetoric.
Teaching Experience: Since 2016, Watkins has held various teaching roles, including Lecturer (2022–present), Visiting Instructor (2021–2022), Affiliate Instructor (2020–2021), and Graduate Teacher of Record (2019–2020). She has taught courses in Rhetoric and Composition, English Literature, and Creative Writing, with a focus on multimodal projects and hands-on learning. She has also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (2018–2019) and Writing Center Tutor (2018).
Additional Experience: She co-founded and led the Clemson Longsword Guild (2016–2020), focusing on historical research and hands-on exploration of 13th–14th century dueling texts. She holds an A.A.S. in American Sign Language Interpreting (2015) from Spartanburg Community College.
