Sarah Snyder

Sarah Snyder serves as an Associate Professor of Biology at Simon's Rock, a campus of Bard College now relocated to the Massena campus adjacent to Bard College's main campus in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. Her academic position involves teaching undergraduate courses and mentoring students in conservation-focused biological research across diverse ecosystems.

Dr. Snyder's research expertise centers on reptile and amphibian conservation, with active projects examining the effects of invasive species removal and deer management on red-backed salamanders (Plethodon cinereus) and analyzing macroinvertebrate variability in relation to temperature dynamics across urban and rural stream networks. She utilizes collaborative research frameworks that integrate undergraduate students through the Ecological Research for Education Network.

Her scientific recognition includes the 2025 Huyck Preserve Summer Research Fellowship, which supports fieldwork at the Rensselaerville, NY preserve and enables mentorship for up to four undergraduate student interns during summer research activities.
