Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith, PT, DPT is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Clinical Education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science.

• Education: B.S. in Kinesiology (Pennsylvania State University, 2008), DPT (Columbia University, 2012)
• Certification: Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy (2014)

Her clinical expertise spans geriatric physical therapy, neurologic/orthopedic diagnoses, and limb loss rehabilitation with prosthetic training. She has mentored over 100 physical therapy students during clinical rotations and contributes to clinical education research.

Dr. Smith completed a geriatric physical therapy residency (2012-2013) at St. Catherine’s Rehabilitation/Villa Maria Nursing Center, strengthening her focus on outpatient care for older adults.
