Sarah Ruel-Bergeron, RA is a Lecturer at the School of Public Architecture within Michael Graves College at Kean University. A licensed architect and globally recognized expert, she implements housing interventions to improve health outcomes in at-risk communities worldwide.

Her research spans Healthy Housing, Social and Structural Determinants of Health, Environmental Justice, and Community Participatory Design, focusing on equitable solutions for vulnerable populations. She examines climate change impacts through the lens of health equity and the built environment, integrating social justice principles into architectural practice.
She teaches ARCH 3205 (Global Architecture), ARCH 4208 (Equity-Driven Practice), ARCH 5109 (Design Studio 9), ARCH 5210 (Thesis Prep), and ARCH 5602 (Cities in Equilibrium), alongside a Trenton, NJ-based research project on community-driven design.
Prior to academia, she spent 8 years implementing healthy housing solutions in the global south and has professional experience in healthcare architecture, affordable housing, sustainable design, and hazard mitigation in vulnerable environments.
