Sarah Pirani

Dr. Sarah Pirani is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Victoria's School of Nursing, specializing in Nurse Practitioner education. Her research focuses on innovative teaching methodologies including simulation training, curriculum development, and student-centered learning approaches in primary care, mental health, and psychiatry.

She holds a DNP from Chatham University, MSc and NP from McMaster University, BScN from Western University, and a Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University. Prior to UVic, she served as assistant professor at the University of Hawaii and taught at McMaster University.

Dr. Pirani secured a $7,500 HSD Internal Teaching Grant (2022-2023) for developing new models for NP student assessment in clinical settings.
