Dr. Sarah Marzi is a Senior Lecturer in Neuroscience at King's College London, affiliated with the Department of Basic & Clinical Neuroscience and the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI). Her research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and ALS. She utilizes advanced genomic and epigenetic techniques to study gene regulation in cellular and single-cell contexts.
Key collaborations include working with Dr. Alexi Nott (Imperial College London), Professor Jonathan Mill (University of Exeter), and Dr. Emily Rocha (University of Pittsburgh). Her recent work emphasizes the role of histone modifications, such as H3K27ac, in disease pathology and the application of artificial intelligence for biomarker discovery.
Dr. Marzi leads multiple research projects funded by organizations like the Alzheimer's Association and UK DRI, investigating microglial pathways, epigenetic drivers of oligodendrocytes, and therapeutic modalities for C9orf72 ALS.
