Sarah Lebeis, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences at Michigan State University (MSU), part of the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. Her research focuses on understanding how plants and microbes interact to assemble symbiotic microbiomes, particularly in root systems. She holds a B.S. from MSU (2002), a Ph.D. from Emory University (2008), and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (2009–2014).
