Sarah J. Zimmerman is a Professor in the Department of History at Western Washington University. Her research and teaching focus on African history, colonialism, and gender studies. She regularly teaches courses such as African History to 1800, Women, Gender, and Sexuality in African History, and Africa since the 1960s, alongside specialized seminars like War and Militarization in Africa and African Migrations and Diasporas.
