Sarah Irene Brutton Kenderdine

Sarah Irene Brutton Kenderdine is a Full Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the College of Humanities (CDH), the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SODH), and the Digital Humanities Institute (DHI). She leads the Laboratory for Experimental Museology (eM+) and serves as Curator-at-large at EPFL-Pavilions. Her work bridges digital innovation with cultural heritage, and she actively contributes to academic governance as Head of Unit in the CDH Academic Evaluation Committee and as a member of the Doctoral Program Committee in Digital Humanities.

Her research interests include digital museology, immersive storytelling, cultural data sculpting, interactive installations, and data physicalization. She is deeply involved in redefining how cultural data is experienced through technology, pushing the boundaries of museum practices in the digital age.

Sarah Kenderdine supervises several PhD students, including Alliata Giacomo, Chau Tsz Kin, Gowda Storz Dhruva, Yang Yuchen, and former student Hou Yumeng, reflecting her active role in mentoring the next generation of scholars in digital humanities.

She is involved in leadership and collaborative initiatives such as the eM+ Laboratory and EPFL-Pavilions, fostering interdisciplinary teams that integrate art, science, and technology to create novel cultural experiences.
