Sarah Hyde is a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at Charles Sturt University's School of Rural Medicine, Orange, since 2008. She specializes in rural health education, problem-based learning (PBL), and curriculum design and evaluation, with a focus on student-centered approaches and reflective practice.

Her research explores rurality, self-regulated learning, student experience, and curriculum contextualization. She has led projects on telehealth education, co-designed placements, and evaluation of rural student identity. Articles highlight her work in interprofessional education, work-integrated learning, and online pedagogy.
Notable awards include the Best General Research Presentation (2020) and collaborative grant funding (2021) for rural medical education studies. She serves as Member of Editorial Board for Focus on Health Professional Education and has reviewed for journals like Medical Teacher and Advances in Medical Education.
In teaching, she coordinates PBL in Year 1 and uses PebblePad for ePortfolios. She previously led the Bachelor of Clinical Science program and consults on online curriculum transfer from Western Sydney University to CSU. Since 2020, she contributes to the ARHEN working group evaluating rural placement quality and the ANZAHPE leadership since 2007.
