Sarah Horwitz, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She holds dual roles as Co-Director of the Research Fellowship and Clinical Research Support program and contributes to Graduate Education initiatives. Her primary research focuses on mental health service delivery systems, trauma-informed care integration, and juvenile justice-involved youth mental health. Dr. Horwitz earned her PhD from Yale University.
Her work emphasizes innovative solutions for mental health screening in pediatric settings, organizational capacity-building for trauma care, and improving access to mental health services for marginalized populations. Key areas include suicide prevention in emergency departments, autism-specific care protocols, and ADHD symptom trajectory analysis.
