Sarah Hill is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University Bloomington, where she has taught since 2018. Her academic journey includes a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University (2000) and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Iowa (2009), where her doctoral research under Dr. Christopher M. Cheatum focused on femtosecond IR photon-echo spectroscopy to study active-site dynamics in human carbonic anhydrase.
Prior to academia, Hill worked as a quality engineer at TI Automotive, where she discovered her passion for teaching while training laboratory technicians. This experience catalyzed her transition into education, leading to teaching roles at Michigan Technological University before joining IU Bloomington.
Her research expertise lies in spectroscopic analysis of enzyme dynamics and physical chemistry. Current teaching responsibilities include general chemistry and physical chemistry courses, reflecting her dedication to foundational chemical education and advanced theoretical concepts.
