Her research focuses on the history of agricultural development in postcolonial francophone West Africa, particularly among Pulaar-speaking communities in southeastern Senegal. She examines the introduction of pesticides in cotton cultivation, moral economies of pesticide use, ecological/social impacts (with a gendered lens), and the roles of political/religious authorities in Muslim-majority regions. Her work bridges local dynamics with global patterns in socio-economic history and modern African nation-building.
