Sarah Gane

Sarah Gane is a Senior Lecturer (Independent Prescribing) at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences (HAS). She holds an honorary contract with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and collaborates with King's College London (KCL). Her qualifications include MSc, AKC, PG Cert LTHE, DipHE, and RN registration with the NMC as an adult nurse and independent prescriber.

Her research focuses on steroid-induced diabetes in cancer patients exposed to dexamethasone, insulin administration protocols, and mixed-methods healthcare analysis. She has 12+ years' experience as a diabetes specialist nurse across primary care, community, renal, and cardiac medicine settings. Current research emphasizes screening methodologies and clinical management strategies.

Teaching expertise includes diabetes clinical practice, research methodologies, and nursing education frameworks. She is completing a PhD related to her research in oncology diabetes management.

Labs/Teams: Collaborates with GSTT's Diabetes Department and Guy's Cancer Centre through her honorary NHS role.
