معرفی
Sarah Ferguson Briggs is a Research Associate in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London since October 2022. She holds affiliations with the Fluid Dynamics group, Academic Women in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, and Mathematics research and teaching staff. Her research focuses on interfacial instabilities in multi-layer flows, collaborating with Prof. Jonathan Mestel (Imperial College), Prof. Mark Blyth (University of East Anglia), and Prof. Demetrios Papageorgiou’s group on topics including ferrofluid dynamics and nonlinear thin-film flows.
Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics at Imperial College London (2018–2022, supervised by Prof. Jonathan Mestel); M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Mathematics/Physics from Leeds University, with master’s thesis on magnetohydrodynamical systems in the sun under Prof. Hughes. Previously worked as a Graduate Scientist at Schlumberger.
Research emphasizes computational fluid dynamics, with applications to viscous fluids and ferrofluids in complex flow scenarios. Active in interdisciplinary collaborations across institutions.
