Sarah Edwards is a Senior Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Strathclyde’s School of Humanities. She holds a BA from the University of London and MA/PhD from the University of York. Her research focuses on neo-Edwardian/Edwardian literature, women’s writing, architectural humanities, and cultural history. She has led interdisciplinary projects funded by AHRC, ESRC, and the Leverhulme Trust, including studies on libraries as transformative spaces and collaborations with Glasgow Women’s Library.
- Recent roles: Vice-Dean Postgraduate (2018-19), Associate Dean/Head of Graduate School (2015-17)
- Executive Committee member of the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (2015-20)
Her major works include Writing the Modern City: Literature, Architecture, Modernity (2011) and a special issue on Nostalgia in the Twenty-First Century (2014). Current projects involve a monograph on neo-Edwardianism and a biographical study of Dorothy M. Meads. She has supervised 8 PhD students across topics like Glasgow literary identity, Anita Brookner’s fiction, and post-industrial narratives.

Teaching includes undergraduate courses on Edwardian literature and interdisciplinary postgraduate modules on suburban representation. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
