Sarah Dellière is a University lecturer and Hospital practitioner in parasitology and mycology at Saint-Louis Hospital (AP-HP), while serving as a scientist in the Immunobiology of Aspergillus Unit at the Institut Pasteur. Her research bridges clinical practice and fundamental science, focusing on fungal pathogenesis and host immune responses. She holds a PhD in microbiology from the Institut Pasteur (2023) and completed medical training in France, Canada, and the U.S., including a residency in microbiology at AP-HP and advanced studies in mycology at Paris Descartes University.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s in Biology (Fairleigh Dickinson University, 2007–08)
- Master’s in Microbiology (University of Nantes, 2012–13)
- Master’s in Infectious Diseases & Immunology (Paris Descartes University, 2016–17)
- PhD in Microbiology (Institut Pasteur, 2020–23)
- Key Contributions: Investigates interactions between Aspergillus fumigatus and the human immune system, identifying roles of surfactant protein D in antifungal defense. Leads European projects on rapid diagnostics and resistance mechanisms.
- Clinical Experience: Emergency medicine in Cambodia, infectious diseases in Colombia, and global volunteering in public health education.
Her translational research aims to develop therapeutic strategies (e.g., protein-based inhalers) for high-risk patients with invasive aspergillosis. Collaborates with experts like Dr. Vishukumar Aimanianda to integrate clinical insights with lab discoveries.
