Sarah Coyne

Sarah Coyne is a Lecturer in Law and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where she contributes her extensive expertise in litigation and white-collar defense. She is also a partner in Weil’s Litigation Department and a key member of the firm’s global White-Collar Defense, Regulatory and Investigations practice.

Her educational background includes a J.D. from New York University School of Law (1998) and a B.A. from Georgetown University (1993), earned magna cum laude and with Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Sarah Coyne specializes in high-stakes legal matters, including securities fraud, FCPA violations, healthcare fraud, and internal corporate investigations. Her work spans both civil and criminal domains, with a strong emphasis on financial institutions. She has tried 14 jury trials and successfully argued appeals before the Second and Third Circuits.

Her professional recognitions include being named a 'Future Star' by Benchmark Litigation, highlighting her influence in the legal field.

As a former Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief of the Business and Securities Fraud Section in the Eastern District of New York, she supervised 15 prosecutors and led complex investigations. She previously served in the District of New Jersey for three years, building a robust prosecution record.

She began her legal career with two prestigious judicial clerkships under the Hon. Maryanne Trump Barry, serving at both the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
