Sarah Brock

Sarah Brock serves as the Academic Director for the Czech Republic program at the School for International Training (SIT) Study Abroad, overseeing lectures, seminars, and educational excursions while guiding students in developing Independent Study Projects. Her deep engagement with Czech civil society and artists stems from firsthand experience during the post-communist transition period in Prague.

Her research centers on alternative arts spaces in Central Europe and arts-based research methods, emphasizing direct collaboration with local specialists and community programs to explore socio-cultural complexities. This approach was highlighted in her 2019 presentation at the Arts in Society Conference on bridging histories through creative arts practice in international education.

Sarah mentors students in creating academically rigorous projects by connecting them with Czech academic advisors, artists, and NGO activists. Her prior work includes managing the US Embassy's nonprofit grants portfolio in Prague and co-curating the "Certain Traces: Dialogue 2004" exhibition featuring Czech and Los Angeles artists.

She maintains active partnerships with Czech civil society leaders and artists, integrating these networks into SIT's educational framework to foster cross-cultural dialogue through arts initiatives.
