Sarah B. Fisher

Sarah B. Fisher, MD, FACS, serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and holds the position of Associate Program Director for the Surgical Endocrinology Fellowship program.

Her educational background includes:

• MD from University of Missouri School of Medicine (2009), earned magna cum laude
• General Surgical Internship and Residency at Emory University, Atlanta (completed 2016)
• Master of Science in Clinical Research earned during residency research years
• Complex General Surgical Oncology and Surgical Endocrinology Fellowships at MD Anderson

Dr. Fisher's clinical and research focus centers on advancing endocrine surgery and melanoma treatment protocols, with particular emphasis on developing specialized service lines across MD Anderson's Houston-area locations. Her work bridges translational research with clinical applications in surgical oncology, leveraging her dual expertise in endocrine procedures and melanoma management to address critical gaps in cancer care delivery.

As Associate Program Director for the Surgical Endocrinology Fellowship, she oversees comprehensive training for surgical fellows, integrating clinical experience with research mentorship. Since joining the faculty in 2019, she has spearheaded initiatives to expand access to specialized surgical oncology services throughout the Houston metropolitan region.
