Sara Rauscher is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Spatial Sciences at the University of Delaware, affiliated with the Delaware Environmental Institute (DENIN) and the Water Science and Policy Program. Her research focuses on regional climate processes, climate modeling, and impacts of climate change on ecosystems and human systems. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2004), an M.S. from the same institution (1994), and a B.S. in Geography from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (1991).
Her research interests include regional climate variability and change, high-resolution regional climate modeling strategies, climate extremes in North America, and impacts of climate change on tropical ecosystems. She has contributed to studies of monsoon dynamics, ozone pollution, and vegetation responses to temperature rise. Her work emphasizes bridging scales between global climate models and regional impacts.
Rauscher's publications span climatology, meteorology, and environmental science, with a focus on model evaluation and interdisciplinary applications. She is involved in collaborative initiatives like the ICTP Regional Climate Modeling Network (RegCNET), advancing climate modeling in developing regions. Her office is located at 219 Pearson Hall, Newark, DE.
