Sara Marquard

Prof. Dr. Sara Marquard is a Professor of Nursing Science at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. She serves as Deputy Scientific Director of the German Network for Quality Development in Nursing (DNQP). Her expertise spans oncological and palliative nursing, body and embodiment studies, and nursing quality development. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Osnabrück (summa cum laude) and has extensive clinical experience including roles as an Advanced Practice Nurse in oncology and healthcare management.

Education:

• 2002-2004: Bachelor's in Nursing Science at Private University Witten/Herdecke
• 2006-2008: Master's in Nursing Science at Private University Witten/Herdecke
• 2021: PhD in Human Sciences (Philosophy) from University of Osnabrück

Research Interests: Her work focuses on advanced cancer care, body image transformation in terminal illness, and innovative nursing practices. Key themes include digital support systems for patients/families, interdisciplinary palliative care, and nursing education quality. She leads major projects like PoWEr (BMBF-funded) and Gesi-BK addressing nursing needs in oncology and end-of-life care.
