Sara Jaffe serves as Visiting Associate Professor of Creative Writing in the English Department at Reed College. She has taught at Reed since 2014, offering fiction, nonfiction, and multi-genre workshops focused on developing students' writing practice and contextual awareness.
Her teaching explores specialized topics including queer writing, contemporary moment narratives, and professional writing practices. Jaffe's creative research examines themes of gender, queerness, friendship, coming-of-age, parenthood, and performance through fiction and critical essays.
She is the author of the novel Dryland (Tin House Books) and is currently developing a short story collection Hurricane Envy and novel I'm My Own Grandpa. Her literary criticism appears in publications like Hanif Abdurraqib's 68 to 05 project and Third Man Records' Maggot Brain.
