Sara Forsberg is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Human Geography, Uppsala University. Her research focuses on social and geographical inequality, migration, and the interplay between education, work, and housing access for young adults and families in urban and rural contexts.

Sara investigates how educational strategies intersect with gender, ethnicity, and spatial capital in shaping youth transitions and future prospects. Her current project examines families and young adults with foreign backgrounds in southern Stockholm, analyzing qualitative data on school choice, resource transfer, and negotiation of opportunities within households.
Her work spans topics such as the internationalization of higher education in Kerala, India; global policy dynamics in education; residential segregation; and re-migration to rural areas. Publications highlight intersections of marketization of education, mobility, and social stratification.
