She has been actively contributing to the Landscape Architecture, Planning and Design section since 2014, progressing from Student Assistant to her current research-focused role.
Her educational foundation includes a Master of Science in Landscape Architecture (2015) specializing in Green Space Management and a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture (2013) focused on Landscape Design, both from the University of Copenhagen. Her master's thesis examined biodiversity-recreation compatibility in urban green spaces.
Folvig's research centers on digital transformation in planning, with core expertise in landscape architecture, urban biodiversity, and data-driven land-use strategies. She investigates how digital tools enhance planning transparency, efficiency, and cross-jurisdictional collaboration while addressing ecological and recreational needs in urban environments.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a clear trajectory toward digital planning innovation across Danish and European contexts. Key patterns include municipal digitalization adoption, landscape-scale strategy development, and practical implementation of data standards for collaborative planning processes.
She actively engages in collaborative research projects like DIGIPLAN and regional landscape analyses, demonstrating commitment to bridging academic research with real-world planning challenges through interdisciplinary teamwork and evidence-based solutions.
