Sara E. Skrabalak is the James H. Rudy Professor and Robert & Marjorie Mann Chair in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University Bloomington. She serves as Editor-in-Chief for ACS Materials Letters and Chemistry of Materials and held associate editor roles for Nanoscale journals (2017-2020). Her research focuses on designing nanomaterials with controlled crystal size, shape, composition, and architecture for applications in energy science, chemical sensing, and secured electronics.
- Education: B.A. in Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis (2002), Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2006), Postdoctoral Research at University of Washington-Seattle.
Research Themes:
- Nanomaterial Synthesis: Developing scalable methods for inorganic nanocrystals with defined properties.
- Plasmonics: Exploring symmetry-reduced metal nanostructures for optical applications.
- Electrocatalysis: Building durable multimetallic catalysts from intermetallic seeds.
