Professor Sara C. Mednick is a cognitive neuroscientist at the University of California, Irvine and a research scientist at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. She is the author of The Hidden Power of the Downstate (Hachette Go!, 2022) and Take a Nap! Change Your Life (Workman). Her work focuses on:
- Enhancing cognition through napping, transcranial electrical stimulation, sound/light interventions, and pharmacology
- Intersections between sleep, the autonomic nervous system, and brain function
- Menstrual cycle and aging effects on cognitive performance
Her research has been federally funded by:
