Dr. Sanne Abeln is a Visiting Fellow at the Faculty of Science, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with affiliations in Bioinformatics, AIMMS, and Integrative Bioinformatics. Her research focuses on integrating and modeling quantitative data from molecular profiling and biophysical measurements, emphasizing computational biophysics and data science.
She has held grants including the NWO Veni (2011) and led projects such as 'Targeting chromosomal breakpoint structural variants in colorectal cancer' (2021–2024) and 'Multi-omics Interdisciplinary Research Integration to Address DEmentia diagnosis' (2019–2024). Her work contributes to understanding protein thermodynamics, hydrophobic effects, and chromosomal instability in cancer.
