Sanna Bergvall is a Senior Lecturer and Wallander Scholarship Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg. Her primary research focuses on Labor Economics, Education Economics, and Family and Gender Economics, with a strong emphasis on inequality and domestic violence. She holds a PhD in Economics from Lund University (2020) and has conducted postdoctoral research at both Lund and Gothenburg Universities.
Her education includes a BSc & MSc in Economics from Lund University (2011–2015), an academic visit to UC Santa Barbara (2018–2019), and extensive teaching experience, including course coordination for Intermediate Microeconomics and Lecturing in Applied Microeconomics and Econometrics.
Research interests span cultural norms influencing educational gender gaps, the impact of economic empowerment on domestic violence, and mental health among PhD students. Her work has been featured in outlets like the Journal of Human Resources and Economics of Education Review, with media coverage in Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter, and others.
Awarded the Thesis Prize from the New Society of Letters at Lund (2020) and supported by grants from the Kamprad Family Foundation and Wallander Stiftelse, she has also organized seminars and presented at conferences such as the Arne Ryde Gender Workshop and EALE. She actively engages with policy through roles like PhD Student Representative in Lund University's Gender and Inequality Committee.
