Sanjoy Pusti

Sanjoy Pusti is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He holds a PhD from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata (2009), where his thesis focused on spectral analysis and synthesis for radial sections of homogeneous vector bundles on noncompact Riemannian symmetric spaces.

His research explores harmonic analysis on Lie groups and special functions associated with root systems, with emphasis on spectral theory, functional analysis, and geometric methods in symmetric spaces.

Dr. Pusti's publications demonstrate consistent focus on harmonic analysis and Lie theory, with recent works exploring spectral synthesis in group algebras, asymptotic behavior of special functions, and extensions of classical theorems to non-Euclidean geometries. His research shows strong thematic coherence across symmetric spaces, representation theory, and operator algebras.

Before joining IIT Kanpur, he held postdoctoral positions at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (2009-2010) and the University of Luxembourg (2011-2013).
